At Melbourne Sports Photography, using top quality equipment and keeping that gear in good working order is important to producing high quality sports images. After a nice Christmas break we have started 2020 with a busy January photographing basketball, tennis, and commercial assignments with Melbourne Sports Centres and an international sports shoe manufacturer.

Recently Melbourne Sports Photography team members, Phil and Craig, headed down to the Canon Experience Store in South Melbourne. Canon Professional Services are based there and they did a fantastic job of cleaning camera sensors while Phil and Craig waited. It's reassuring to have excellent partners like Canon Professional Services able to provide support so quickly. We're photographing this week's sports with clean sensors, confidence the image quality is excellent, and knowing we have great partners to help. Thanks Canon Professional Services.

December has been a busy month photographing gymnastics for Melbourne Sports Photography.
Across 2 separate weekends we have attended the MLC Gymnastics and Waverley Gymnastics Centre's Club Championships.
Those images have been edited and are now available to view in password protected galleries on the Melbourne Sports Photography website. For families from MLC Gymnastics and Waverley Gymnastics Centre - the gallery password is available via your club.

Last weekend the Melbourne Sports Photography team joined thousands of young basketballers at the Southern Peninsula Tournament, and had a terrific time over Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Congratulations to the Southern Peninsula Tournament team for a smoothly run event and a great weekend of basketball.
With over 400 teams and 4000+ players it was a big effort for the Melbourne Sports Photography team to shoot, edit and upload the images. While we didn't cover every team (sorry!) we did shoot nearly 200 games.
This evening our post production team have smiles on their faces as they have edited 11,381 action images over the last 4 days, and loaded them onto the Melbourne Sports Photography website.
For a link to the gallery click Southern Peninsula Basketball Tournament 2019 Galleries.
(The gallery password was sent out last week by the Tournament organizers - please check your email as you'll need the password to view the images).
Note, the gallery will be open until 12 December 2019.
Thank you again to the tournament officials and all the people the Melbourne Sports Photography team met over the three days. We hope to see you again next year.

Sally and Craig, from Melbourne Sports Photography, recently had the opportunity to work with No Limits Basketball. They spent the afternoon creating action images for the No Limits Basketball Academy players, the website, and the No Limits Basketball social media accounts.

What is No Limits Basketball?
From their website "Our passion is helping players reach their goal. We set out to create advanced skills training for basketballers of any level. Most trainers run through drills and skills they can already do. The players might get in a great 'workout' but won't be adding any new skills to their game. Improving your skills is a mixture of knowledge and practice. We supply both in a way that fast tracks your development, taking you to the next level fast!"
Where is No Limits Basketball?
No Limits Basketball premises are in Box Hill South, Melbourne. This is where the No Limits Basketball Academy operates. In addition, they run school holiday basketball camps at a range of locations around Melbourne. Check out their website for more information.

Thank you Pete and team for making Sally and Craig welcome, and for giving Melbourne Sports Photography the opportunity to create action images for No Limits Basketball.
All the best for your Academy, Camps, and the upcoming USA Tour.

This year the Southern Peninsula Junior Basketball Tournament is being held over the weekend of 16 & 17 November, and Melbourne Sports Photography will be there to photograph the action.
What is the Southern Peninsula Junior Basketball Tournament?
The Southern Peninsula Tournament is an annual event held in November, just before the start of the VJBL rep basketball season. Last year the tournament featured 440 teams and was held at 14 stadiums and 34 courts around the Mornington Peninsula, Victoria. Those numbers speak for themselves - it is a big tournament and a great way for teams to have a hit out before the rep season begins.
2019 will be bigger than last year, with more than 4000 players competing across 15 stadiums and 35 courts.
Melbourne Sports Photography will have a team of photographers to shoot 100+ games and 150+ teams across all divisions.

Where Can we Find the Images?
The images will be available on the Melbourne Sports Photography website in the week after the tournament (we are aiming to have all images uploaded by Thursday 21 November 2019). They will be in password protected galleries based on age group. The password will be emailed to you by the tournament organizers.
What Can we Buy?
Images will be available to purchase as digital downloads and physical prints. Prices start at $8, and our most popular product - the high resolution digital download - will be just $10.
Will all Teams and Players be Covered?
Unfortunately, Melbourne Sports Photography won't be able to photograph everyone due to the scale of the tournament. We expect to cover 100+ games and 150+ teams across the weekend.
Look out for the Melbourne Sports Photography team at one of your games, and have a great, action packed weekend.
