Junior sports clubs can greatly benefit from professional photography in a number of ways. Here are four ways that professional photography can help junior sports clubs:
1. Promoting the club: Professional photographs of the young athletes in action can be used to promote the club, its players, and its events to potential members and fans. High-quality images can be used in printed materials such as brochures and posters, as well as online through the club's website and social media channels. This can help attract new players and families to the club.

2. Recruiting new coaches: Professional photographs of the young athletes and their coaches can be used to showcase the talent and skill of the team. This can help attract new coaches and volunteers to the club, who can help to develop the young players and improve the quality of the club.
3. Building a sense of community: Professional photographs can capture important moments, games and events, which can be used to create albums, scrapbooks and other keepsakes for the club's members, players and families. This can help build a sense of community and belonging within the club, and create lasting memories for the young players and their families.

4. Creating a visual record: Professional photographs can create a visual record of the club's activities, which can be used to promote the club and connect with the audience. This can be especially important for junior sports clubs, who may not have the same level of media coverage as senior clubs.
In conclusion, professional photography can be an invaluable tool for junior sports clubs, helping them to attract new players, coaches, and families, build a sense of community, create lasting memories, and promote the club. By investing in professional photography, junior sports clubs can ensure that they have a high-quality visual record of their activities, which can be used to showcase their achievements and connect with their audience.

It is exciting for the team at Melbourne Sports Photography to be working with Basketball Hawthorn again this season. This is the 4th year we have partnered with Basketball Hawthorn to shoot team photos and individual portraits for the Hawthorn Magic teams.
Last weekend we completed the photo shoot. It was super to see lots of smiling faces among the magicians, who are now well underway with grading for the 2023 season. The Melbourne Sports Photography team are now working on editing those images.
The 2023 team photo design is exciting and different to what we have done for Magic before. We will be busy over the Christmas and New Year break and expect prints to be ready prior to your first game in the new year.
Thanks for having us again this year Basketball Hawthorn and Hawthorn Magic! All the best for the 2023 VJBL season.

Photographing the Victorian Figure Skating Championships and Southern Cross Trophy 2022 was an exciting assignment for the Melbourne Sports Photography team.
The event was held at the O'brien Icehouse in Docklands, Melbourne featuring the best figure skaters from Victoria, and several skaters who had traveled from interstate. The competition was held over 2 days, with many of the images highlighting the skill, strength, balance and coordination of the skaters.

Thank you to Ice Skating Victoria and the skaters who made us feel welcome. We have thawed out now (!) and will come well prepared for the cool conditions next to the ice next time!

Congratulations to the organisers and the participants for an excellent competition. The Melbourne Sports Photography team hope to see you again in the future.
Melbourne Sports Photography co-founder Craig Dingle is currently in Sydney getting a major dose of high level basketball! The FIBA Women's World Cup is being held at Olympic Park and Craig is capturing all the action for one of our international photo agency partners.

The tournament is progressing and the quarter finals are on today - being battled out between USA, Serbia, Canada, Puerto Rico, China, France, Belgium and Australia.

If you are in Sydney, look out for Craig courtside for the rest of the tournament. And if you'd like to follow some of the images, check out our social media accounts on Facebook and Instagram.
It has been quite a time for recognition for the Melbourne Sports Photography team. Both of our founders, Craig Dingle and Sally Jacob, have been recognised as among the top sports photographers in Melbourne (see earlier blog post). Now the Melbourne Sports Photography team has been recognised in this list of The Top 6 Sports Photographers in Melbourne.
We're thrilled with the recognition of the quality of work that we do.
