While it's the middle of summer at the moment and we'd rather be at the beach(!), the team at Melbourne Sports Photography are looking ahead and seeing plenty of busy months doing team photos. If you are considering contacting us to inquire about team photos, please do so sooner rather than later. We only have a small number of vacancies left between February and the end of June 2024.

When you reach out it will be helpful to know:
* what are your preferred dates
* how many teams and players you would like photographed
* whether there are also officials (coaches and team managers) and how many
* your preferred location

Our studio equipment is portable and we can come to you for the shoot. We will need a good size indoor space, like a hall or club rooms.
Once you have provided team lists and player details there is only a small amount of effort required by your club - getting the players, coaches and team managers in the right place at the right time! We aim to make the other steps in the process easy - starting with an online ordering facility, right through to delivering prints in individual and team packs.
Reach out to book in your club team photo session. Details are on the Contact page here on the Melbourne Sports Photography website.
In addition to photographing action sports and team photos, the team at Melbourne Sports Photography have spent a good part of the year meeting the demand for creative sports portraits. This has included a range of sports - footy, basketball, dance, and martial arts - and we are keen for that list of sports to grow!
This style of photography is becoming increasingly popular, reflecting how important sport is to the athlete, and also enabling creative lighting effects that are not possible "in game".
Dance portraits are very popular and we have completed two recent assignments in this space.

First was a shoot with dancer Lisa Tan. This was based at a local hall in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne which Melbourne Sports Photography often use for this type of shoot. The second was with Comm23 at the Australian Allstar Cheer Federation Nationals Championships which were held at the Melbourne Exhibition and Convention Centre.
If you are interested in creating some fascinating portraits for your sport, please make contact. Our equipment is mobile so that we can do these shoots anywhere that there is a good sized indoor space.

Melbourne Sports Photography was delighted to be involved in the Victorian Figure Skating Championships and Southern Cross Trophy again in 2023. Melbourne Sports Photography founder, Craig Dingle, spent 2 days with the skaters at O'Brien Icehouse in Docklands photographing the competition. He had an enjoyable time, and commented on how friendly the people were.

Images from the 2023 competition are able to be viewed here on the Melbourne Sports Photography website. You'll find them in the Galleries section under Ice Skating. Gallery passwords are available from Ice Skating Victoria.

The galleries will close on 10 November 2023, so please view them before this date.
Thank you to Ice Skating Victoria, and all the skaters, for having Melbourne Sports Photography at this year's competition. Congratulations on a successful event. We hope to see you again in 2024.

August and September brought lots of winter sports grand finals. The Melbourne Sports Photography team have been busy photographing basketball, football, and hockey grand finals - capturing all the action and the celebrations. In addition, we have been shooting a series of studio images including a recent session with the team from Vibe Studios.

Five of the team from Vibe arrived with lots of enthusiasm and even more costumes! Craig and Phil were slightly overwhelmed with the level of talent and energy! They had a fun session photographing the dance and cheer athletes using a mix of stadium light effects and coloured smoke. Thank you so much to the Vibe Studios team. It was a lot of fun to work with you.

These studio concepts can work with any sport. If you like this style of sports portrait, please make contact with the Melbourne Sports Photography team via the Contact page here on the website. Our equipment is mobile, so we can come to you. Now is a good time to shoot if you are looking to have some large prints ready for Christmas gifts.
The Melbourne Sports Photography team work with Comm23 to photograph the Victorian AASCF events. Thanks again to the team from Vibe Studios, we look forward to seeing you again at AASCF Spring Carnival and Nationals!
The team at Melbourne Sports Photography enjoyed working with Essendon Rowing Club for the Saltwater Challenge.
A cool start made way for a sunny day for the rowers to enjoy the action on the Maribyrnong River. Andrew, from Melbourne Sports Photography, had a busy time capturing images from the day. He managed to photograph the day in a way which covered the action and the participants in a terrific way.

If you would like to see all the images from the Saltwater Challenge, head over to their Facebook page.

There's plenty of smiling faces and lots of action.
Well done Essendon Rowing Club for a terrific event, and well done Andrew for a top job behind the camera.

We hope to see you again next year.
